D. Scott Vandenheuvel
Pastor / Head of Staff
Pastor Scott is a Minnesota native where he and his wife, Dawn spent their entire lives until God moved them from part-time ministry into
full-time ministry. Scott holds a degree in Animal Science and worked for 20+ years in business before entering full-time ministry. He earned his Masters of Divinity at Bethel Seminary in St. Paul, MN. Scott is also a licensed Prepare/Enrich Counselor as well as a trained Life Coach. He & Dawn's unique "Team Vandenheuvel" Ministry keeps them both very rooted in God's word.
Scott & Dawn enjoy traveling, spending time with their daughters as well as with family in MN. Scott enjoys gardening, fishing and hunting.
Ann works part-time as Secretary at FPC- McAlester. She has served on various non-profit boards in the community, such as McAlester Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Hope House of McAlester, the Board of Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma and the McAlester Rotary Club. Ann is a graduate of Leadership Oklahoma, Class 14. She also serves on the LOK Program Committee on which she helps with the planning of the LOK visits to McAlester where the class learns about the Criminal Justice System.
Ann has an Associate's Degree in Business from Tulsa Junior College,
a Bachelor's Degree in Human Relations and a Master's Degree in Management from Southern Nazarene University.
Church Financial Secretary
Terry enjoys accounting, working with numbers and spreadsheets. She received a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and in Business Management from Southern New Hampshire University (formerly Franklin Pierce College) in New Hampshire. While she has several years of experience in large corporations, she truly prefers the more personal, family atmosphere at First Presbyterian.
Terry belongs to GFWC Fortnightly and is their SE OK District Treasurer as well as Treasurer for the McAlester Cornerstone Creations Department. She is a member of The Friends of the Library and lends a hand with bookkeeping and payroll at Oklahomans for Independent Living.
Terry is a HUGE fan of the new series, “The Chosen”, enjoys making greeting cards, and is a proud GiGi of three grandchildren and two critters (ferrets).
Paul is a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church. He begins his 5th year as Director of Music for First Presbyterian Church in which he directs both the Bell Choir and the Adult Choir. After 33 years of public school teaching, Paul retired in 2021. He continues to teach band part time for Frink Chambers Public Schools. He also is a Sales Rep for Saied Music Company of Tulsa working with band directors in all of Southeastern Oklahoma.
Paul earned his BME from the University of OK and his Masters from East Central University.
Debbie is a fun-loving, hard working gal and has a heart for God's word. If she is not working/cleaning, you can usually find her studying her Bible on her breaks.
Debbie is a Texas native but has lived most of her life in Oklahoma. She served with the National Guard 445th MP Co.. She has one son, Patrick.
